Plan for drought management and water shortage for the Liberec Region

A plan for the management of drought and the state of water scarcity means a document that is the basis

· for decisions or measures of a general nature issued by the water authority for drought management,

· assessing the need to convene a committee on drought management and water scarcity,

· Deciding by the Drought Commission on measures in the event of a state of water shortage.

The main objective of the Drought Plan is to propose measures to ensure sufficient water to cover basic societal needs, minimize the negative environmental impacts of water management during drought, and minimize the effects of drought and water scarcity on economic activity.

The drought plan contains the delimitation and description of the territory with the identification of water sources, a description of the risks of drought, including its possible impacts. The Drought Plan, in its main part, contains a proposal for drought management procedures and measures in case of water shortage. A drought plan is prepared for the territory of the Czech Republic and for the territory of the region.
